BEIJING, May 6 (TMTPOST) —— Eleven departments of the Chinese government jointly issued a statement on further strengthening the supervision of the medical beauty industry on Thursday to coordinate the regulation and standardization of the medical beauty industry and promote the healthy development of the industry.
Sources from the medical beauty industry told TMTPost that the jointly issued statement indicates that the government is gradually strengthening its regulation in a more specific and systematic way so as to bring the medical beauty industry back to medical treatment.
The statement stipulates that medical beauty services belong to medical activities and must comply with legal requirements for entry into the industry. At the same time, the statement urged to build a "coordinated and efficient industrial supervision system" from multiple aspects such as registration management, qualification audit, certificate and license information sharing, notification and consultation, joint sampling and inspection, collaborative supervision, the convergence of the executive and criminal according to the existing legal and regulatory framework. It aims to build a coherent, synergistic, and efficient linkage of the industry regulatory system.
In addition, the statement pointed out that it is important to coordinate the regulation of the industry and promote development by taking into full consideration the characteristics of the medical beauty industry to promote the optimization of industry access conditions, enhance the registration of market entities management services, strengthen the disclosure of information and credit constraints and other aspects.
As for the issue of the statement, Cheng Du Meitou Technology founder Lin Ying told TMT Post that the government has clarified what businesses are beyond the business scope of the industry, and has clarified the difference between life beauty and medical beauty. In terms of licensed doctors, the threshold of entry has been raised. Great importance has been attached to the source of traceability in terms of pharmaceutical equipment so that product channels are more compliant and legitimate.
TMT Post noted that the document clearly stated to strengthen the management of the life beauty industry and advocated posting warning words such as "no medical beauty services" in life beauty institutions to guide these institutions to develop by the law and integrity of the business and prevent them from providing illegal or disguised medical beauty activities. At the same time, the government stressed the emphasis on strengthening the supervision of medical beauty training activities to forbid unqualified personnel to provide medical beauty technology training services. Institutions found suspected of being unlicensed and engaged in medical beauty activities should be dealt with according to relevant regulations.
It is learned from industry sources that the regulation of medical beauty will be conducted in two ways. On one hand, the government aims to support and protect qualified medical beauty institutions. On the other hand, it intends to crack down on illegal medical beauty institutions. Therefore, the regulation will be tightened in the future. It is expected to bring medical beauty back to medical treatment by making the content of regulation more specific and maintaining the continuous improvement of medical quality and safety.
